One Hundred Ampersands

Talented designer and friend, Bernardo has created an interesting project for himself. It's called "One Hundred Ampersands" and it doesn't disappoint. He illustrates ampersands for specific people, including yours truly! Take a gander when you get a moment! Thanks for this Benardo, it's awesome!

The Big Five Zero

After 5yrs of electronic journaling, I've finally reached 50 postings! First and foremost big-ups to Jesus Christ my lawd and savior. I couldn't have done it without you holmes. That one set of footprints on the beach was you carrying me. Shout out to my parents and my fans. I could not have done this without your love and support. There were times where I didn't know if certain postings where news worthy. Or those times when I wanted to read other blogs, instead contributing to my own. The distractions of work and life encroaching on my blog time. Experiencing life outside of the internets... another big time drain. The casual focus it took for me to accomplish this feat is staggering. All I can say is... Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

Nike Fuel Band

It came today! It's basically Nike's version of weight watchers but no low carb meals and dessert. Actually, it's more the ability to track all of you activity and get credit for it.

The 2nd release on the trilogy of t-shirts I collaborated on with Premium Goods. Jamz! This one is only available in the Houston store. Sorry Houston folk that currently live in NYC/BK. You gotta roll back home for this little diddy.

Art of Design

My good friend Heidy Garay interviewed me and others discussing the intersections of art and design. She created this thesis blog as a part of her graduate studies at Pratt. Please peruse at your leisure. Also, check out Mikell Fine Iles' interview. It is packed with thoughtful insights and clarity. Heidy, thank you for the opportunity, it was fun. Check out the interview here.

Premium Goods Collaboration!

They are here! If you're in Brooklyn, stop by Premium Goods on 5th Ave in Park Slope and pick up this tee. Look out for the Houston & Premium Goods t-shirts soon.

Drake has been an easy target lately. With all the emo-introspective rap he's been cranking out, I forgot how many good songs he's already created. I went back and listened to the mix tapes, cameos and full albums. It's legit ya'll. This dude has been consistently cranking out hits and somewhat unexpected hits ( which, come to think of it might be the issue at heart ). He's currently being things hip-hop has never been. Specifically, vulnerable. It's easy to critique the person that puts himself out there fully. Which actually, presents another issue ya'll. As fans, we prefer our stars to be within sight but difficult to grasp. Drake is completely transparent, making him easy to "get at." So Drake, my bad holmes. You trusted me and I pounced ( Pause ). Whether you thought it is was a safe place or not... I messed up. Although, I wouldn't mind hearing a track like "Wilt Chamberlin" from time to time. Just Sayin'.
